How many hours a day do rabbits sleep for??

i have two, and i see them asleep, but ive read somewhere before they sleep with their eyes open but they probs just sleep at night when u put them in! they are quite lazy really, well mine are lol

i have 11 rabbits and i havent seen mine sleep much. when i have i think he is die! well he is old.
watch your rabbit carefully they do sleep/nap in their normal sitting position as well as laying stretched out.

Wild rabbits r 'crepuscular', which means they r awake in the hours just before dawn & after dusk, & sleep during the day & late at night. Many domestic rabbits take on the same habits. Others will take on the habits of their owners - if the owners r around from 5PM to bedtime, that is when the rabbit is awake. If they r available all day, the rabbits will sleep at night. Ours do the crepuscular thing - if we check on them at noon or in the afternoon, they will typically be passed out under the couch.

Rabbits sleep in many ways. Some sit in the same crouch they r often in when awake, eyes open, & u can only tell they r asleep from the lack of nose twitching. (Noses twitch when awake, it is the rabbit rule #2, after 'chew on everything that does not move'.) Sometimes they sleep with eyes closed, sometimes they will lie down, either on their belly or their side. The scariest is the 'dead bunny sleep' - flat out on their side as if they were cut down in mid-stride, eyes wide open, the only movement being very subtle breathing. He is fine, he is just feels safe enough sleeping there to be totally out

LOL - I have two male rabbits & I must admit I have never seen them asleep - chilling behing the shed or under my kids climbing frame but never actually asleep - usually all u hear during the night from their hutch is THUD BANG - they r usually too busy trying to bonk anything ''bonkable'' that is lying around, followed by eating, drinking & then just...well...chilling!

This is going to play on my mind now - I just know that I will be keeping a beady eye on whether or not they r sleeping..or not as the case may be!

24 hours a day where i live, thats why i never see any!

'-Sleep for' suggests a reason. The reason? They are tired.

I've never seen my rabbits sleep either!
