is there an easy way to build a rabbit cage that will house 2 rabbits

Relax!!! There is a way!!!!! In fact there r a couple:

#1- You can get a playpen which gives them plenty of room when you're not home. The cheapest I've found is at

Just make sure to get the large one. *note u may need to buy a top cover if ur bunny is a high jumper.

#2- Another great option (which I am doing myself & I have NO building experience) is building my own cage out of Neat Idea Cubes. It is amazingly easy. You can buy 2 packages of Neat Idea cubes from almost any Walmart/Target/Kmart/etc. & they r only around $13 each. (maybe even less depending on where u live). There r cool websites like

that have directions on how to build one of ur own. Just remember to buy the nylon cable ties (available at any hardware store/Home Depot & also super cheap).

PS please do not let ur rabbits go. They will bring u MUCH joy over the years (& some trouble too to be honest) but as someone said before ''domestic rabbits die if let loose in the wild so please give them to a shelter if u must). Trust me though the Neat Idea cubes will work PERFECTLY (maybe even with just one box) & they're super cheap.

It is going to be hard to find cages for less than $30 & u should not keep two rabbits together in the same pen once they have passed weaning age. There r kits that u can put wire cages together with, but u will need to buy J-clips & J-clip pliers unless they come with the kit. Below r some good rabbit cage sites:

I suggest asking for the galvanized after welded wire. It lasts a lot longer because the galvanized before welded wire will start to rust at the weld points after 2-3 years. Also never put a salt block in a wire cage. It will rust the cage out.

Or KW cages make great cages.

If you let your rabbits free outside they will be eaten by predators. If you no longer want to keep them you should give them to a shelter so they can find a nice indoor home. Have you considered buying some indoor/outdoor carpet and putting an exercise pen around it? That works very well for my rabbits.

i just made a two story cage for my two rabbits. It will cost a little over 30.00 but it is pretty easy. My cage is 30'' X 36'' & it's
3' tall the wire was about 30.00 the tray was 25.00 the tool to put them together was 9.00 & the small clamps were 4.00. I know it is
more than 30.00 but it is a very large cage if ur interested let me know & I will give u more info. You can go to any place that sales
cage wire what u want is 1'' X 2'' wire. If u live near a farm store
you can get it all there.

first of all, can the rabbits stay together in an enclosed space? if they can not well then it is pointless to put them together/

but anyway, chicken wire, some nails, & a couple of 2x4 of course, if u want to get technical, u will need some hinging & a latch if u want a door. make the bottom open, but strong enough to hold the two. (so that the droppings can fall out if u wish) as for buying one, can not u just renovate something?

ooh, try this if u have to. build the cage ajoing ur house, so that u only have to build 3 sides, plus the top

build one thats twice as big as a cage for one... is it really that hard..

Get some chicken wire and attach it to 2 x 4 boards. That is probably the cheapest way. If you cant do that it is either get rid of the rabbits or buy a cage. When you got them you should've expected them to outgrow their cage. Just save some money ( dont party every weekend) and you can get them a cage. lol

that is what we did!!
we used cheap wood that was laying around. find a farmers garage. those places are great. or any hometown feed place is great. you must keep them in a chicken wire type area first off, then build or buy a cage for your funnies
