Do you think rabbits are the most neglected pets

I think it depends on the person who owns them. A rabbit that lives to 15 is very rare. But if they are fixed they can live to between 8-10 years. 4-5 if not fixed. I do think that there is a lot of misinformation about rabbits. People simply just do not take the time to educate themselves. I think it is blessing and a curse for a rabbit to be cute.

That is a difficult & unsure question to answer. There r so many different animals as pets that we can not tell if they r the most neglected. As far as rabbits, I had 2 & they just tend to die easily. I never neglected them. I would let them run around in the house & they were just free & cage is always clean, clean water & food all the time. I got both of them used to going back into their cages when they needed to do their business & I would clean it out right away. The thing is, they can die easily with just about anything. One of mine died from constipation & I did not know at the time that I could have tried to help him by giving him a little pineapple juice. I found that out when I took him to the vet & he was already too weak to make it. The other died from diarrhea (he was dehydrated) & was too weak to even stand up. You can not keep them close to any area where they can catch a cold. Like close to the window in the winter because the cold air seeps in & they catch a cold very easily. The r very delicate creatures. You really have to learn about a pet before buying it. The ones that u keep as a pet seems to die quicker than the wild rabbits running around outside. Most of the time, it is because we do not have much knowledge about how to care for them.

Toby isn't.

He is been held for $50,000 ransom, recipes for preparing Toby in the event the ransom demands were not met have been published, a book about Toby was supposedly due to come out in September (Paypal & all other reputable Internet financial transaction sites finally refused to accept donations to save Toby out sheer disgust at the idea of someone holding a rabbit for ransom, so the site had to resort to book sales & T-Shirt sales).

And, finally, Toby received a permanent reprieve when Bored.com bought the website, savetoby.com, & Toby for an undisclosed amount of money.

It was a very funny site while it lasted, even if in poor taste.

Apparently, rabbits r the only mammal incapable of vomiting (from a QI commercial that, alas, was very funny even if in poor taste)

oh gosh no, i would never neglect a rabbit. i always put a generous coat of breading on them before throwing them in the frying pan.

No, I think Pet Snakes are more neglected. No one to pick it up
& play with it. No one to talk to it. No one to walk it & take pics.
No one to dress it up & take it to the Pet Store for an outing.
No one to wrap it around his neck & invite others to rub it. Or to
pet it.

our rabbit is 8yrs old - hutch on porch in summer (gets out every day) and inhouse in cage in winter..

I do not breed her because I dont think rodents in general benefit from being pets so there is no point in making more pets that potentially will have boring lives.

are they the MOST neglected pet?? hard to say.. but surely rodents in general tend to be neglected more so than other pets when purchased for kids

Some people should not have animals. We had 2 rabbits and treated them awesome, petted them, held them kissed them. They spent alot of time running around the house. And we had a hutch outside for when it was nice out, which they loved, but they always came in at night. 1 of ours lived to 10, the other only 2, she had a brain annurism.

I would go with birds. I always see them displayed more as decoration than as pets. Why do people even have birds as pets, must be torture for the bird to be caged. Plus the birds just make too much noise and are real boring pets anyway

no I think goldfish are no one cares about their needs or feelings

They Can Be. But Some Die At The Age of 1 or 2 because of my cat. kills them.. I dont know some people love their pets and some dont. its a shame for the rabbits that get neglected.. its sad.
